One day my Gelendawagen doesn’t want to start from P gear. Neither from N gear. So the only way I can start it – directly put ‘+’ to the starter. Reason for this – safety switch failure. As a spare part I had only switch from my old E420, so I installed it and Gelik started no problem now!
0005454906 – manufactory installed safety switch
0005456206 – safety switch from w124 E420
To remove it:
1. Remove shift linkage – one bolt on 8.
2. Remove harness – pull lever UP.
3. Unscrew 2 bolts on 10 to remove safety switch.
